This tour starts with a drive along the north coast of Crete towards the east of the Island. Our first stop will be the small of town Agios Nikolaos, where you can spend free time at the lake, the harbor or the numerous little shops and bars. After that we are embarked in the ferry that will travel us to Spinalonga island, taking us around the ancient city of Olous, where we also see nowadays the seaside village of Elounda.
There you can travel through the Venetian and Turkish periods, roam through the old houses and alleys and explore the fortress to arrive at a more recent and moving part of history: The first half of the 20th century when Spinalonga was the last Leper Colony of Europe. It is a popular attraction due to its fascinating history and gorgeous scenery of the surrounding areas. We then return to Agios Nikolaos where our bus will be waiting to take you back to your assigned location. On the way back we make a quick coffee and toilet break.
