Gramvousa Trip
Gramboussa is the name of two small islands of Crete. The two islands (Tame Gramboussa and Wild Gramboussa) are located in the northwestern part of the prefecture of Chania.
Gramvousa island is a little paradise. It is a unique place, a great part of our island, with beautiful beaches and fantastic views. Here and in the lagoon of Balos you will have the opportunity to see the most beautiful places you have ever seen in your life.
We board the Gramvousa Ferry at 10am at Kissamos Port . Enjoy meals or snack which you can find in the ferry's kitchen. Feel comfortable on a deck chair or in the lounge. On the way we see the elevation of the land along the cliff edges of Crete. This elevation has happened over 2000 years. The ferry makes a close pass of an abandoned pirates cave.
We arrive to the island of Gramvoussa after approximately 45 minutes. Here you will admire the Venetian Castle. During the Ottoman rule the Cretans had made a last stand here against the turks. The views from this point are spectacular. Also you can go for a swim in the crystal clear waters.
Afterwards, we head towards the pristine Balos Lagoon for a swim in the waters that start with the coral sands and gradually end in the deepest blue. Here you will have plenty of time for relax.
At the Korykon cape, north of Balos, are the remains of a small ancient Roman town Agnion, with a sanctuary of the god Apollo.
At the port of Kissamos you can take excellent photos as the sun will be behind you as you look out to the scenery of the island.
Return time approximately 19.00
